Venneikia S. Williams is the current Campaign Manager for Media 2070, a media reparations project. Prior to this work, she was the Editorial and Engagement Director of a small nonprofit responsible for training other nonprofits, universities, and community members in justice-informed service and operations. As the former Co-Director of Faith for Justice, she invited people to participate in the radical, biblical-prophetic tradition by creating, coordinating and promoting events to encourage public justice in St. Louis and beyond. Within her previous roles of worship leader, community organizer, and sociologist, Venneikia explored and blended her interests which lie within the intersections of race, gender, and faith.
Venneikia serves as a committee member for Drum Majors Alliance and aids the work of Sanctuary Consulting, and School of Love. With a bachelors in Sociology from UNC-Chapel Hill and a Master of Divinity from Covenant Seminary, Venneikia’s womanist lens informs and fuels the work she does: teaching people and organizations how to be active, informed change makers. For the Liberating Church team, Venneikia contributes her unique gifts of communication, marketing, and curriculum development toward the goal of decolonizing Christianity.
